The Beretta Nano 9mm Pistol – what a gun and one that I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on for quite some time now. So I have decided to write this Beretta Nano review to give you a better idea of what you can expect when buying.
The Beretta Nano BU 9mm is one of the newest models presented by a company that is almost half a millennia-old – Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta, so I am sure they must know a thing or two about guns.
A successor to the Beretta Neos .22 Pistol, this 9mm semi-automatic handgun is a huge upgrade from its predecessor. It has a much smaller barrel with a length of 3.07 inches and a total length of 5.63 inches which makes it the perfect fit handgun for concealed carry.
Now that we have covered the basics I want to get into more detail about the features and benefits, how this gun handles itself both on and off-field, and what my general impressions of it were. Continue reading this guide for a full Beretta Nano review. Spoiler alert, it’s a pretty damn good handgun!
Product Presentation
The Beretta Nano 9mm Pistol is an extremely accurate gun, which will shoot targets from over 20 yards away, and what makes it special is that in the case of rapid-fire, it hits the sweet-spot almost every time! One thing to note is that it may have a slight left offset, but nothing that the sound of flawless rapid-fire shots can’t fix.
This 9mm is easy to hold, small and compact, making it the perfect weapon for concealed carry. Both single-handed shooting and double-handed shooting are comfortable and accurate, with little to no recoil.
9mm pistols are one of the most popular choices for people interested in self-defense. The Beretta Nano makes no exception to this rule with its 3.07-inch barrel and overall length of 5.63 inches.
I highly recommend the Beretta Nano 9mm Pistol for a concealed carry as it’s lightweight and easy to handle under any circumstance.
Considering that the company behind this handgun is almost 500 years old you can already tell that it sticks to tradition and this is exactly what you get with the Beretta Nano 9mm Pistol – A traditional looking, minimalistic handgun, with a matte black, blocky exterior. The black finish on the outside keeps the gun safe from corrosion.
The mainframe includes a polymer construction and you can buy it in four different styles – black, navy green, navy brown, and last but not least – pink – a little something for the female gun enthusiast as well.
Overview of Features
The Beretta Nano 9mm Pistol has a multitude of features that we will go over so that you can get a better understanding of what you are buying.
It’s a 9mm pistol with a 6 round capacity or an 8 round one if you opt-in for the extended magazine.
Its overall length is 5.6 inches and has a barrel length of 3.07 inches. The frame is made from a technopolymer and the slide is made with stainless steel.
The Beretta Nano 9mm comes with a white dot for the front sights and a square notch with white dots in the rear.
It has a Reversible Magazine release which makes it extremely easy to swap for left or right-handed users with no gunsmithing required and just a screwdriver instead.
In addition to that, it has a Striker Deactivator that helps you to safely deactivate the firearm without the need to pull the trigger.
One other formidable feature that the Beretta has is the fact that it has a smooth snag-free design, making it a gun that you can draw quickly and efficiently.
This 9mm handgun comes with three safeties to avoid mishandling. There is a lever on the front of the trigger. The lever needs to be fully depressed before the trigger pull can occur. As well as the lever, this gun has a striker block pin, that gets pushed up as the trigger is pulled. You can see that because it’s visible in front of the rear sight.
The third safety is a striker deactivation button. It’s located on the right side of the gun. This allows the striker to be released from half-cock, with no need to pull the trigger. This feature is a really nice touch because it allows the owner to disassemble the gun without having to pull the trigger.
The most significant benefit is the adjustable 3-dot sights. Typically, guns crafted for self-defense and concealed carry lack this feature, but for me, it’s an absolute must-have. The sights on the Beretta Nano 9mm are adjustable and interchangeable which means you can alter the aim according to what you need this gun to do for you.
Last but not least, one thing that I personally find as a great added plus when purchasing a handgun is when one comes with two magazines included – because who likes to spend extra on magazines?
On-Field Performance
The first thought that comes to mind when handling a handgun is shooting. You will immediately want to try it on the shooting range and see what it is made of.
For the purpose, we took the handgun on the range and hit the bullseye on our first five and 10-meter shots, which is surprisingly good.
This is in part because of the adjustable 3-dot sights, which you can fully adjust. This helps you change the field of vision and decide on the best position for shooting.
But what caught my eye when I was doing my research on this is the fact that Beretta USA did a variety of torture tests on this gun.
One of the tests they did was show an employee, that ran over the pistol multiple times with his Toyota Jeep, then picked it up and started shooting it to show it’s working – impressive, isn’t it?
Beretta Nano Review – Final Words
The Beretta Nano is definitely one of the best self-defense subcompacts out there. It’s lightweight but this does not affect its accuracy, it conceals very well, a pleasure to shoot and a lot more affordable than products in this range such as the Kimber for example.
We’ve already gone through the design and while it isn’t groundbreaking of any sort, it has all the right bits to make it stand out from other pocket pistols on the market.
To wrap it all up, The Beretta Nano is an accurate and reliable pistol with excellent stopping power. It’s easy to use, conceal, and manage.
Would I recommend the Beretta Nano, considering the quality of the make, the way this gun handles itself and of course it’s affordable MSRP of around $400? That’s surely a yes, after all, it’s an affordable Beretta that provides exceptional performance.
